Preston K. Night Assignments

Assignment 1: Reasons for Writing

Wiesel’s Night
Ellie Wiesel has many reasons for writing the novel “Night”. The main reason for writing this book is that he wanted to preserve the record and ordeal that he faced throughout the course of his time at the camps. Wiesel still does not know what he wanted to achieve with his words but he knew that they needed to be heard. Without writing this he knew that his life as a survivor and as a writer would not be the same as they are now. Wiesel’s reasons for writing about his first hand accounts of the holocaust are not only inspiring but also tragic.

Assignment 2: Holocaust Web Search

Ovens
Horrid and grotesque
Burning, destroying, and killing
As bright at the sun itself, and like staring death in the face
The silent coffin of those unable to speak
Destroying
Throughout the fire within their thoughts
